Motorhome Haven comes alive

Container Parking Lot Sunny, 68 degrees, light wind

Tiger set up Santa Barbara style! Containers from around the world supplied by P & O Nedlloyd packed a parking lot the size of half a football field. Tiger pieces everywhere. Sailors from 15 countries assembled hulls, weighed boats, measured sails...than onto the beach for rigging. Some early birds were able to get out sailing for a scenic day in the harbor. Winds were steady and light.

The Waterfront Grill at the Santa B. Museum

33 of the 90 teams registered. Weigh crews, ID badge photos, cool shirts and givie bags. Lori Mohney and crew welcomed competitors from Germany, France, Australia, Canada and the US. Highlights included Canadians beening treated to a chorus of Oh Canada and dancin' to the ring of Loris cell phone ring.

53 Motor Homes have filled the parking lot on Beachfront. A carefully laid out plan orchestrated by Ted Lindley, set up a living area that is an award winner in this months "Better Homes and Camping" magazine! Half of the high end moterhomes are from the El Monte RV Rental. Commpetitors fly into LAX (Los Angles International Airport) than drive 100 miles to the event site.

Mohome Party #1

Registration Committee and Race Committee instigate an impromptu Happy Hour at the Fleet 204 204 204, mohome. Cases of Labatts Blue from Canada, Don Q rum from Puerto Rico and bottles of red wine made for a nice warm up of Hobie friends worldwide.
